I love doing the rope pull low impact cardio exercise. It emulates the rope pull movement but you’re not actually pulling on any rope. Mind you, it’s a challenging low impact cardio movement but still a lot of fun to do. The great thing about the rope pull exercise is that it really activates the shoulders and upper chest muscles while allowing you to build up a lot of cardiovascular activity. I personally enjoy doing the rope pull as a finishing exercise for my cardio circuits because it takes the focus off of my legs and really allows me to “go for it”. I’m sure you’ll enjoy the rope pull low impact cardio exercise and include it in your regular routine.
Below I will show you how to do the rope pull low impact cardio exercise.
Position for the rope pull low impact cardio exercise
Place your feet at shoulder width apart. Stand straight with your back nice and straight. Keep your head level and your knees slightly bent.
How to perform the rope pull low impact cardio exercise
Reach up as if to grab a rope with your left arm. Pull your left arm down and at the same time reach up with your right arm as if to grab and pull the rope downwards. Keep repeating this motion until the prescribed amount of pulls have been completed.
Important notes about
the rope pull low impact cardio exercise
· It’s important that you imagine pulling the rope. This will ensure proper form and the right motion.
· Make sure that you bend at the knees a bit and keep your core and quadriceps (front of thighs) flexed throughout the entire movement
· Try not to look up or down as this will break form and you may lose your balance
Breathing
Breathe in as you grab the imaginary rope with your left hand and breathe out as you grab the imaginary rope with your right hand.
